Mad ramblings whenever I feel like it….

Browsing in links

Sick of all your friends squashing those links with TinyURL? Get revenge with HugeURL, because as we know, bigger is better - right?

Got a girlfriend that’s down in the dumps - how about some Happy Pills?

Mess with your mind with this corner house illusion.

Convert any picture of yours to ASCII text.

Some people really do look like their dogs!

Chemistry at home - how to make Thermite - and all those ingredients are available on eBay!

For one of those days when i can’t be bothered to write a proper post…

Julian Beevers amazing 3D chalk pavement art - I’ve been mailed a lot of his images over the years, but this is the full gallery - I’d love to see some of this in real life…

The concept of cosmic ordering - now what should I ask for first?

SimpleSeating.com - a phenomenal concept, but will they re-open the beta or have it ready in time for my wedding?

You knew that each snowflake was unique, but did you know just how many different classifications there are? Pretty pictures….

If you haven’t heard of Robot Chicken then check them out on YouTube/Google Video - a classic snippet that someone showed me at BarCamp… They are short animated episodes that will f*ck with your brain and turn it to jelly… IMHO, the best ever clip: Optimus Prime gets prostate cancer!

A few interesting things that caught my attention this week while surfing around the blog-o-sphere…

Spotted on the invisible Mr Mulley’s blog:

Glass bridge for the Grand Canyon - A phenomenal idea for the Grand Canyon, when you’re there you have an irresistible urge to get close to the edge and a few people have gotten a little too close over the years…

Walk on Water - I would love to see this art exhibit, I’m rarely into the modern art stuff myself, but I get sucked into anything that’s interactive!! :-)

I’ve spent a bit of time this week updating my website, and in honour of the Pink for October campaign the front page has gained a hefty splash of pink!

While working through all the code on my site I was searching for some stuff on google, and I came across a great reference for any blogger - http://feedicons.com which holds all the icons that have been agreed upon by the Mozilla foundation and Microsoft amongst others for representing syndicated content.

And finally a few funnies to round things off… Eircom pulled a blinder this week by cutting off all the Smart Telecom customers the night before ‘Bertiegate’ in the Dail… so I lost my outgoing phone service along with 40,000+ others and it barely registered in the news channels…

Michele posted this image:

And as for ‘Bertiegate’, well we turn to The Bertles for the last word on that:

Help! I need some money!
Help! Not just any money!
Help! You know I’m not fussy, help…

When I was younger so much younger than today
I needed random businessmen to help me pay my way
But now those days are gone and I’m thrice as self-assured
Why won’t these cunting Paddies respect their overlord?

For the rest of this wonderful parody, hop on over to Arse End of Ireland.

The last word goes to Alnilam, who made the post of the week (IMHO) over on boards.ie:

I will NEVER be an Eircom customer again, so long as there is string and bean cans in the world
