The interview went really well on Saturday, even if Susan didn’t let me talk as much as much as I wanted to! Everyone that listed in has been really positive and said that i got my points over really well, so I’m please with that - even if Ciaran says that Pat Kenny is the next step - I’m happy to do radio, I’m not so sure about TV!!
The hair cut is great as well, everyone seems to like it and I keep catching myself looking in mirrors all the time, which is great as I’d been avoiding them lately! I picked up the “tiara” for the wedding at the weekend as well, so I can’t wait to see what it looks like with the new hair!
Off to the gym tonight, I can really see the difference in the last week or so, my jeans are nearly falling off me - but there’s a long way to go yet!! I won’t go shopping for new clothes for a few months or so, might head up to Junction One to pick up some bargains - pity I didn’t start this a month or so sooner, then I could have benefited from the sales!!!!
I got my haircut today, and it’s short! It hasn’t been this short in about 7 years…. I was just sick of the way it was hanging down, straight and long and I couldn’t do anything with it at all… so with the wedding next year and after sorting through a bunch of old photos, I decided to bring it back to the way it was back in 1999 - it’s so last century, like!!
Tomorrow I’m going to be interviewed on RTE Radio One on the “Saturday with Susan McReynolds” show. It’s to publicise “Know Your Neighbour Weekend” that’s being started by Macra Na Feirme - the Irish young farmers society (as far as I understand it). Susan will be interviewing Colm Markey, the president of Macra about the plans for the weekend (14-15th July) and will be chatting to me about www.neighbours.ie and the Adamstown forum there. As I’m basically covering for the founder of neighbours.ie ‘cos he can’t make it, I’ll also be mentioning the first forum that he founded, www.googleland.ie, which is for residents of the GasWorks neighbourhood in Dublin. Apparently the area is nicknamed “GoogleLand” because Google set up their European HQ next door….
So I got the hair done the other week, 5 inches chopped off the back and a full head meche of colour. I went to my local salon, but they’ve been running model days on Wednesday afternoons, so it was half-price!! Getting my hair done properly costs around €140 these days, so i was glad to get it cheaper. I’m very happy with it and it’s way lighter and easier to deal with. Now the ony battle is to get George to cut his a bit - like that’s ever gonna happen!
The new hair-do!
So on Saturday I finally got my birthday pressie. This year there really wasn’t anything “physical” that I wanted, so I asked the hubbie to be for a pampering instead! Saturday was my beauty day, complete with manicure, pedicure, back massage, eyebrow tinting and lots more… and some more photos below to show it off - and these ones are from my new camera phone! I’ve been moaning for too long about how a camera should be a camera and a phone should be a phone, but it’s slowly dawning that these gadgets are cool!!!
Sparkly Nails!
and sparkly toes!
