What difference is it to us if he died to pay for our sins? We didnÂ´t ask him to. @Jonathan - Thanks. I feel the same way, having grown up with religion around me, I’ve made an informed decision about the path that I have chosen in this life. No-one should have the right to ‘push’ their opinions on me, nor I on them (anyone disagreeing with what I say can easily unsubscribe from my blog).

Well put Elly. In this day and age the last thing anyone should be hearing is an ear-full of hell and damnation. I always thought that religion was supposed to be a way to quietly reflect on your thoughts with the deity of your choice then I claimed agnostic status and open the floodgates! I’ve seen one or two taxis going around in recent years with those Christian community abstract fish-like symbols and always wondered why, I guess it’s a warning to potential punters.

@Keith - I must find that quote from the bible, but then they’re already experts in twisting the book to suit their moods - I mean, I’ve read it and the first half is all about slaughtering people in the name of the lord - but they conveniently ignore all this and concentrate on the messages from the second half - which conveniently aren’t much better.

@olivier - missed your comment earlier - lovely use of language! I also felt like telling him that if heaven was going to be stocked with people like him that I’d rather be in hell having fun!

@Stewart - he looked totally normal and I thought I was going to have a great chat until he started into all the shite. I’d got into the front of the taxi as well, so I couldn’t even close my eyes and ignore him.

Valid tip BTW - if you’re a woman travelling in a taxi on your own, then always get into the front. Doors in the rear could be ‘child-locked’ by a fake taxi driver and you wouldn’t be able to get out. Same can’t be done in the front. Always keep your keeps in your hand to, they will scratch a face just lovely if attacked…

I think I got that driver on Friday - I was yapping away to my gfriend so he didn’t get a word in, but as I was getting out he gave me a leaflet with a smug “Here, I think you need this…” comment. pfff.

I just tell those asses that the Bible explicitly states that zealotry is verboten. Can’t remember exactly where it is ’cause I’m still somewhat drunk from the festival I was at, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find the verse.

@Eoghan - I vary, you saw how chatty I was last night, so I was happy to continue in the taxi until he got onto this topic…

@Grannymar - I always thought it was the worst phrase - just the mental image that ‘being born again’ casts up is gross!
